Android or iOS – Which one you gotta choose

It has always been a close competition between the giants, the Android and the iOS. You should have definitely heard about the greatness of Apple and the Google’s Android. Whatever Google tries, for example with the Android market attracting thousands of customers, still Apple manages to keep up with the race. We wouldn’t have been discussing this topic if not. Isn’t it? Now we have to come to a conclusion on which have an edge over the other so that we can choose the better one.
The iOS running on the all the versions of iPhone are much known for its smoothness. There are of course thousands of apps available in the Apple store but in order to access them, you need to go through the iTunes which is somewhat annoying. Some of you might think that the iTunes will help you manage your files on your iPhone through your desktop but why worry about using your computer when you can do all on your Android phone? Also iPhone doesn’t come with a physical keyboard and hence you are stuck up with the onscreen keyboard. The lack of physical keyboard also means that it blocks the way from who are favorites of it. When considering the gaming options, we have to agree that the iPhone has an edge over the Android as there are more games developed than for Android. But, how many people out there purchase a smartphone just for gaming?
When considering customization, surely Android has an edge over the iPhone. iPhone can be customized but it needs to jail broken before that. Android phones on the other hand, if rooted gives even more flexibility like under clocking to increase the processor speed etc. Is it even possible in iPhone? Although the Apple store started long before than the Android market, more Android daves emerge everyday compared to that of the Apple store. All credit goes to Google announcing the Android OS as open source which led to launch of hundreds of Android phones every year. This in turn attracted a lot of customers.
It is sad that Android market despite including 100s of thousand of apps, most of them is crappy apps. You really need to learn completely about the app, read user reviews before you invest on them. This is a bit of struggle, while the Apple store includes only quality apps. Widgets are problem with the iPhone as it doesn’t support them. Android users on the other hand can place widgets on the home screen and check out the details without even opening the app.
There are plenty other advantages towards the Android like the Notifications bar, dedicated button on the front, camera, display sizes etc. Through the notifications bar, you can check out messages, emails, chat messages right from your home screen which feature is not available in iPhone running iOS. The iPhone 4, the latest update from Apple running iOS feature only a home screen button upfront which it is proud of but actually the Android phone having dedicated button for back and menu apart from the home is bit more advantageous. You will find only a 5MP camera even in the latest iPhone 4 while there are Android phones available even with a rocking 8MP. The display size is also of the same case where iPhones are stuck with the 3.5-inch display while there are Android phones available with even 4.3-inch displays. The larger display also means that your usage limit to apps are been extended compared to the iPhone.
The last but not least is that higher end Android phones are capable of running flash files which is not the case with even iPhone 4. When considering the above points, you might now be clear that Android has the edge in almost every aspect. I’d like to mention one advantage of iPhone over the Android. Software updates will reach your iPhone in regular intervals while some Android phone users need to do them manually at times.
Despite all these good Android features, why at all people choose the iPhone? I guess it is the iPhone craze as it is the first smartphone to meet user requirements and still known for its smoothness. If those iPhone users keep their hand on some higher end Android phones, I bet they will never turn to an iPhone.
